Über den Server
Curecoin is a decentralized cryptocurrency that was created in 2014 with the aim of supporting medical research. Unlike other cryptocurrencies that rely on proof-of-work (PoW) or proof-of-stake (PoS) algorithms, Curecoin uses a hybrid system that combines both PoS and PoC (proof-of-computation) through folding@home (FAH) protein folding simulations.
In the Curecoin network, "miners" become folders that use their computational power to contribute to FAH simulations, which aim to understand and find cures for various diseases. The more computational power a folder contributes, the more Curecoins they earn. These Curecoins can then be used to support medical research organizations or exchanged for other cryptocurrencies or fiat currencies.
Curecoin has a circulating supply of 27.8 million coins and uses a hybrid PoS/PoC system to ensure fair distribution and encourage participation in medical research. The system is designed to be energy-efficient, as the computational power used in FAH simulations can be repurposed toward folding for Curecoin. Curecoin also offers a secure and transparent platform for transactions, making it a viable option for individuals and organizations interested in supporting medical research through cryptocurrency.
Overall, Curecoin is a cryptocurrency that combines the power of blockchain technology with the goal of advancing medical research, providing a unique opportunity for individuals to contribute to a worthy cause while also earning a reward for their efforts.
